The Indian head massage is especially good for relieving stress, tension, fatigue, insomnia, head-aches,
migraine and sinusitis.

It also helps increase joint mobility and flexibility in the neck and shoulders, improves blood circulation and
lymphatic flow.  Frees knots of muscular tension, relaxes connective tissue, and aids in the elimination of
accumulated toxins and waste products.

Indian Head Massage, is a treatment based on old Ayurvedic techniques involving work on the upper back,
shoulders, neck, scalp and face.  It is used by practitioners to help reduce stress and fatigue, increase mental
clarity, and relax and rejuvenate the receiver. It was brought to the west by Narendra Mehta in the 1970's.

The massage may bring about: General feeling of wellbeing, calmness and relaxation: Dispersal of toxins
from tense, knotted muscles: Stimulation and improvement of circulatory and lymphatic systems:
Improvement of joint mobility:
PLUS!..... Higher levels of alertness and concentration.

It may also help relieve or alleviate: Tension headaches, Eyestrain / eye problems, Tinnitus and other ear
problems. Insomnia, Neck and shoulder stiffness, Sinusitis and congestion, Hair loss/thinning, Scalp tension,
Mental tiredness/anxiety/stress.

Indian head massage is deeply relaxing, which can prove to be a powerful 'preventive medicine' in today’s
often stress-choked, fast-paced lifestyle.
It is gentle, safe and non-invasive and just about anyone would benefit from a treatment.

Indian Head Massage, also known under the term 'Champissage', is an alternative medicine massage
therapy in which the head, neck, face and facial areas are massaged with the purpose of manipulating
energy channels.  It works on areas affected by mental and emotional stress and its proponents say that it
can bring immediate relief.

Indian Head Massages utilize 'Marmas' which are acu-pressure points located on the head, neck, shoulders,
arms, hands and face to stimulate circulation, rebalance energy and release blockages which cause stress
and strain.

The massage typically involves firm and gently rhythmic strokes to help un-knot blockages and relieve
tension.

It supports the nervous system by alleviating stress; stimulates the lymphatic system, encouraging the
elimination of toxins; helps break down muscle knots; relieves chronic neck and shoulder stiffness; increases
oxygen uptake in tissues; and improves circulation.

Indian Head Massage works on both a physical and psychological level, the techniques used represent a de-
stressing programme for 'the whole body', and can improve blood flow to the head and neck, which increases
the distribution of nutrients to encourage 'healing' throughout the body.

(Always consult your own GP if you're in any way concerned about your health).

When the therapist balances the top three chakras, the rest will vibrate in balance, and the belief is that
perfect health and well-being will result.

Today, everyone from children to grandparents in the East, use the technique to decrease stress, improve
overall health, and promote hair growth.
"Unfortunately, in the West, many people worry about their hair's health only when they start to lose it.

This increased blood circulation strengthens the hair root and promotes health and shine.  'Regular sessions'
of Indian head massage will result in a number of health benefits for the client, and a course of treatments
may be advised if a complex condition is involved.

(Did you know that up to 75% of all health problems are linked to stress?)

Would you be interested in learning to solve the many health problems in a natural way?

On a client's initial consultation, time will be taken to complete a general health questionnaire, taking into
consideration diet, exercise and general health.
Maintaining the body in optimum condition not only contributes immeasurably to one's physical health, but
equally to our psychological and emotional health.

Stress- related issues are responsible for around 60% of the 67 million working days lost each year,
according the recent figures from a governmental Health & Safety Inspector.  However, if we looked after our
bodies the same way we look  after our cars and give it the right fuel in the way of healthy foods, and have a
massage on a regular basis as a preventative measure, our bodies would thank us for it, work in a more
efficient way, and suffer less aches and pains.

This wonderfully relaxing Indian Head Massage has become more and more popular in recent years and
many 'health and beauty clinics' now have it on offer as a mainstream therapy.

However you choose to live your life, your health and well-being is of paramount importance.  Complementary
therapies encourage 'health promotion' rather than 'disease management'.

On this web site I have endeavoured to give some basic information to give you a starting point on your
road to better health and well-being.

Did you know that relaxation can help with 'weight loss', as it helps the body to be calm and release
unwanted toxins that can cause gradual weight gain.  That a good nights sleep helps your body expel
'unwanted' toxins.

Also, many people find that this massage, as it is administered fully clothed, find it less intrusive than a full
body massage.  This therapy is particularly beneficial to people who are 'desk bound' and experience pain
and tension in the upper body.

The head more than any other part of our body represents who we are.
The idea is that the head, neck and shoulders are important energy centres within your body.
The head is the crown of the body, the epi-centre of all thought, action and life.

People with hectic lifestyles as well as anyone suffering from stress who want to release tension, have their
energies rebalanced and their mind and body soothed.

Indian Head Massage helps to restore a state of balance by relieving stress through the body's natural
healing process.  Once the body is "in tune", it is wise to have regular treatments to help maintain a state of
balance.

It has an important medical function and not only 'strengthens muscles' and 'firms the skin' but also
encourages the body's own healing processes.
